About the teachers

At Pottsville yoga studio the teachers Leia and Angela are passionate about their yoga, asana, breath and meditation. Both have a degrees in human movement as well as yoga teacher certifications. Pottsville beach yoga studio is boutique style within a garden setting with no more than 12 per class. Angela and Leia devote time and attention to each students individual needs.

Angela (BHMS)

Exercise physiologist/human movement/exercise science. Level2 Yoga Australia registered 700 hr yoga teacher. Owner and founder of Pottsville Yoga Studio.

At 5, I started my yoga journey as I tagged along with my mum to her yoga classes,  (The seed having been planted grew slowly into a tree). At twenty I started doing Iyenga classes in Amsterdam. From there via India, Nepal, Sri-Lanka and the Maldives to Byron bay I practiced and learnt. In Byron Bay I practised yoga daily with Flo Flenton and attended Southern Cross university  to study Exercise Science and Physiology.  After graduating I attended many yoga courses and workshops. Level 1 & 2 with Purna Byron yoga center, Rainbow kids yoga in Byron and Shiva Rea Vinyasa flow yoga in Colorado USA. Every term I go to  yoga work-shops with advanced yoga teacher trainers to stay motivated and fresh eg Flow Fenton, John Ogilvie and Ruth Campbell. I specialiseed myself as a Yoga exercise physiologist with Simon Borg- Olivier and Bianca Matchlis in 2015 and became a Level 2 YogaAustralia Teacher in 2016.angela2

Today I teach classes at my studio in Pottsville beach. With my husband we look  after our 2 school age children and our dog Charlie.  Alway attend as many workshops and yoga courses as is practical to keep growing, learning, moving and specialising. Everyday immersing myself deeper and deeper into the practice of yoga.

Kerri

kerriKerri Pietsch is teaching a new Hatha yoga class on Tuesdays. Kerri is a level 1 Hatha Yoga teacher who consults with clients doing Reiki and works as a therapeutic massage practitioner.

Kerri also teaches Healing Yoga at 6pm on a Wednesday night. Ballancing, relaxation, reiki plus head/shoulder massage.

 

 

 

 

Cameron Wegemund

Cameron is a Level 1 Yoga teacher, human factors facilitator specialising in communication in high stress environments and an airline pilot with a major Australian airline. He guides yoga, meditation & philosophy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Leia (BSc)

Phys Ed/Exercise Science/Rec. Mgmt.Yoga Australia level2 500hr Yoga Teacher

Leia is a regular student of yoga, practicing a variety of styles, and a RYT 500 Vinyasa Yoga Teacher. She encourages her students to join her in finding purpose to their path and step into a life of excellence, exploring their uniqueness and breaking free of perceived limitations. In every moment exists infinite opportunities to evolve and expand. There are mysteries and Leiatruths that lie just beneath the surface of our everyday routine just waiting for us to tap into and experience the depth that they offer. Yoga has proved to be a powerful tool for transformation in Leia’s life – personal experience allows her to teach with authenticity and passion. Overcoming challenges of the mind and limitations of the body is 100% realistic – yoga is the perfect tool to do so.

Leia is an internationally recognised action sports athlete and elite level freestyle snowboard coach. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education/Exercise Science. She has always used yoga as a way to balance her admitted addiction for adrenaline and integrates asana and pranayama into her coaching regime.

With a modern approach to practice, her creative vinyasa flow classes have a strong anatomical focus – combining knowledge gained from various schools of thought and familiarity of body mechanics. Each class is different, inviting you to bridge the gap between the body and the mind and further challenging you to carry new insights off the mat and into your world. Expect a dynamic and disciplined moving meditation as Leia encourages you to deepen your personal practice and dive into your own journey of transformation.
